Happy Birthday Planetarium!!!!

November 27th marks the one year anniversary of the community planetarium at Kingman Museum. It’s been a great year! Over 6000 people have enjoyed planetarium shows during this past year, either through school groups, public shows, or special events. We’ve shown nine different weekend shows and have nine unseen shows to debut in 2010. We hope you’ll stop by November 27th to help us celebrate our first birthday.

Last year we debuted Mystery of the Christmas Star during the planetarium’s opening weekend. We’re bringing Mystery of the Christmas Star back for this year’s holiday season. We’ll be celebrating with special holiday hours on November 27th with shows from 1-5pm, starting every hour on the hour. Mystery of the Christmas Star explores some of the scientific explanations for the star of Bethlehem. Using modern science we examine the stars of long ago and attempt to discover the mostly likely explanation for this fabled celestial occurrence. This fascinating show will be enjoyed by all ages. Plus watching it will be a fun new holiday tradition for the family.
